Todd Hingston won his first and Northern Rangers second George Dale Medal at the Football Federation Tasmania annual league vote count.
Todd Hingston had the award wrapped up early in the evening, poling vote after vote in almost every game, finishing the night with 29 votes out of his 16 games.
Each time Hingston won a vote, a mighty and hearty cheer went up from the three and a bit Ranger tables at the dinner.
It must be said that out of the remaining tables, not one senior men’s club from Launceston was represented, very poor form. Some Women from the victorious Women’s side from Launceston City, but apart from that, nothing.
None the less, the North West clubs and Rangers enjoyed the night that saw Roslan Sa’ad voted as Coach of the year, deservedly so after a Stella year at the helm.
To go with the nights success, Stefan Jago won the clubs first ever Under 18 individual award and dedicated it for some reason to Gabriel Tams, or the Gibblecock on the nights occasion, not to mention his highly successful Tuesday evening positional training.
Connors accepted the Senior Championship trophy on behalf of the club and gave a proud speech, not before he struggled to find it.
Many thanks to FFT for the evening, and a special thanks to Nigel Brown from Somerset who came good on his promise to shout a round if the club won the championship, doing so in fine sporting style at the dinner. All the best with your fight Nigel!
